Hello Munchkins!

Today is a "catch-up" day for those of you that still owe a post or two....or three.....:) Scott has the list of what is owed for each of you so please check in with him.
There were a few posts with no names, so you may want to check those if you think you posted something that I am missing. Please be sure to sign your name or I can not give you credit for your work! Remember, I can't check your handwriting on a post :) It may also be helpful for you to make a checklist of assignments/posts so you can keep track of what you still owe or have not finished.
If you do catch up today, review all the concepts and make a study sheet for a simple quiz over the three nutrients that we have looked at so far, along with the general nutrition concepts. I will be sending you each individual feedback and grades thus far next week. If you could send me a quick email today with your email address, that will help me greatly in sending you your feedback up to this point.
Happy Thursday!
Margot

    1. Simple carbohydrates are sugars; this consists of glucose, sucrose, fructose and lactose. Complex carbohydrates consist of starches and fiber. Fiber is any fruits and vegetables and some starches. Blood sugar is broken down into glucose. Processed food is food that is not real so they put preserveatives so it will last a while.
    2. Your body uses carbohydrates to store and transport energy.
    3. Diabetes’s is when you have a high blood sugar creating a spike in sugar. It is when food cannot be proscesed into energy. It can be managed by cutting your sugars down
    4. For the activities I do it is healthiest for me to eat things that will last me the whole day like starches and fiber. I also try to not have a lot of sugars often so I don’t just have short bursts of energy. I make it so I have energy all day with healthy food.
